Almost everyone in the Medical Marijuana community are aware of the Federal government’s threats to harass, arrest and prosecute Medical Marijuana clinics, physicians and patients in spite of state laws allowing Medical Marijuana use. Now, with Washington State and Colorado passing initiatives that allow recreational use, the Feds are really showing their fangs. One strategy being discussed is not to go after clinics but instead to go after small users – patients – and then when they use the argument that it is legal in their state to use the court ruling that Federal law trumps state law to overturn the whole initiative. In other words, it is no news to anyone in the movement that the Federal government is the enemy of the people. Anyone who has ever had any dealings with any of these people knows that they are not sincere, moral, concerned people trying to prevent innocent little kids from falling into a disgusting life of addiction – they are evil, self-righteous, power hungry bureaucrats and sometimes even psychotics who care nothing about people and everything about their authority, position and the easy money they scam from their cushy government jobs. They are simply the flip side of the narco-syndicates, who they created and which they sustain. So instead of hunkering down and waiting for the Federal hammer to fall, I have a suggestion for the brave people who have made it their voluntary life’s work to bring about these changes in state Marijuana laws. Take the initiative. Seize the moment. Use the momentum you have generated to put the proposition before the people of your state that free Americans have the right, which ought not be denied by an out-of-control Federal government or by state officials who are lackeys of the Feds, to grow and use any medicinal plant they choose, beginning with the Opium poppy. Can anyone argue that Opium is not a medicine? Of course not. All that these authoritarian assholes can argue is that Opium can be addicting and that addiction is bad. But doctors prescribe addicting drugs all the time, and it is up to the doctor and the patient to manage the addiction by balancing it with the relief it gives. So unlike the argument that Marijuana isn’t really medicine, no such argument could possibly be made against people growing and using their own opium. And while we’re at it – there’s Coca. Can there be any argument that Coca is not a medicine? Of course not. So what right does any government of the people, by the people, and for the people have to deny the people the right to grow their own Coca plants either?Think about it. Why sit passively by while the Feds scheme to undercut all that you have accomplished? Move forward and talk with the people of your state who have finally ralized what a scam the Marijuana laws are and help them understand that the laws against growing your own Opium and Coca are equally scams. These are legitimate medicinal plants with centuries of evidence of efficacy behind them, and in fact they are a core part of modern pharmacology. But why should the government force people to but from Big Pharma what they can grow better and more pure right in their homes and gardens. Go for it my friends. As a Korean friend of mine said when I was trying to explain the Western concept of “Fair Play” by telling him that you don’t kick an opponent when you have him down, he laughed and said “In Korea we think that’s the best time to kick them, hard.” Indeed.
