For California’s medical marijuana community and those seeking the legalization of recreational pot consumption…It’s been a long hard road. But with the fast approaching midterm elections, hope springs eternal. As many believe that may well be the year that California passes “The California Cannabis Hemp Act of 2014.”
Under the California Cannabis Hemp Act of 2014 – commonly referred to as the Jack Herer initiative – marijuana prohibition in the state would effectively be terminated. Opening the doors for legal marijuana cultivation on a personal level, in addition to permitting the cultivation of industrial hemp for commercial uses.
As the initiative is currently written, California residents over the age of 21 may cultivate up to 99 plants, possess up to 12 pounds, and be able to purchase recreational marijuana from state sanctioned pot shops.
